My speedo used to jump around a lot, and finally gave up. It made noise, just before it gave up, from behind the dash. So maybe it came loose back there? Haven't checked yet.

I took to the road early Saturday morning for the first out of town trip in my 65 coronet. the 60 degree morning helped the rad stay nice and cool and no problems showed themselves on the trip. i did knowtice that the speedo was all over the place and held steady above 40 or 50 on the dial(no idea what speed i was really going) some cars were passing me and i was passing a few. drove about 50miles out to a friends house and left the car there for the afternoon to go to a yard nearby.
I drove the coronet home later with no problems and had alot of thumbs up and waves along the route.
I did notice the oil pressure and temp guages (aftermarket) i installed. on the temp guage it got upo to about 205-210 and held there on the highway. the iol pressure guage started at 50lbs at startup(cold) then when under load from peddle jumped to approx 75. later on the highway i knowticed the guage creep down to approx 60. at idle and at stop signs it went way down to approx 15 to 20. this is a high volumn hoigh pressure pump. What should it be at? What could have caused such a drop. I'm running 10w 40 mobile run clean...
sorry for the long post.
