List member Don Carson noted my invite to '62-'65 members to stop by our
South Central Indiana Mopar Club cookout on Friday Night at the Days Inn and
joined us for supper along with his family. He also took a group picture of
our club members present. I'm the very bald guy standing in the back beside
my wife who is wearing a kind of orangish top, and our row is more or less
in front of my Lemon Twist '72 Cuda. Thanks Don especially for taking the
group picture for us. Just to brag a little on a club member, the guy
standing beside me to the left of the picture is Dane Young, he just
finished restoring a '69.5 Super Bee 6 pack, did everything himself except
the actual paint, and took 2nd overall in the special display of 6-pack cars
at the All Chrysler Nats at Carlisle, and also just found out that he took
second at the Nats, both times losing to cars done by pro restoration shops.
His car was photographed by Mopar Action mag during the weekend for a
feature. The car isn't pictured though. We do have some other '62-'65 cars
in the club. Another member drives a '62 Dart with a max wedge engine using
a real max block. The guy standing at the end of the line, to the right in
the picture, brought his '63 Polara 500 with a 440, he had it for sale as he
has acquired another '63 to build. Beyond my car is a red '66 Dodge Monaco,
just out of range for our list but a solid driver type car belonging to
another member who is the really big guy sitting sprawled out in a lawn
chair right in front of me. The second guy standing from the left side of
the line, white Mopar shirt and white hair, has a '64 Fury 2 door hardtop.
Other folks in the picture have a '70 Challenger T/A, a '67 GTX, a '73 Dart
Sport, a '72 Demon, and a '68 Dart GTS 340.
Here's a link to the pictures Don posted on the '62-'65 website:
