Another Imperial In Flames

I was on my way to pick up a friend on my way to work this morning when
my Imperial died. I started to pull in the driveway and it dies. When I
got in the driveway I restarted it but it died again. So, I got out and
assumed I had fuel problems. As I was walking towards my friends house he
noticed my car was glowing underneath. ( This was at 5:00 this morning so
it was still dark.) So I crawled under to investigate and the front
passenger side from the oil pan up was on fire. Then when I popped the hood
the fire was right under the dist. and all the way back to the firewall. We
put the fire out and went to work. Well, when I came home I checked it out.
It was an electric fire it looks like. No fuel lines are cut or anything.
But the wiring harness is melted all the way back the the firewall. So,
it looks like she will be parked sooner than expected. I plan to rebuild
the front end, engine and trans. Also I am putting nex leaf springs under
it and a new rearend. So all in all it isn't that bad. It got me more
motivated to finish it. Well I have rambled enough.
